REASONS WHY WE SHOULD NOT CELEBRATE MAULIDU-N-NABBIY

All praise is indeed due to Allah. Blessing and salutation upon the noble Prophet (salallāhu alayhi wasallam), his entire household, all his companions; we ask Allah to bless them (all) and to bless every single one of us and to grant us goodness up to the Last Day

Maulidu-n-Nabiyy is the ceremonial trending at hand (at the moment). Many scholars (even from the school of Fiqh) have spoken about it and convey to us its evil outcome but most of us are turning deaf ears to these messages.

This post has been prepared in order to clarify for us how this act and celebrating it has been innovative in Islam. So many of its reason has been said and heard about; yet, we still see people engaging in this celebrations and gather people together.

Points will be derived from Qur'an and Sunnah just to equip us with its basis. So, part of the reason that classify it to be innovative are as follows:

✏ Eid Milad is not in Islamic Shariah, it was later introduced by Shia Fatimid in Egypt.

✏ Historians differed about the date of birth of Prophet SAW. Some said it's in Ramadan, some in Shabaan and Some said its in Rabi ul awal.

✏ How can a Muslim rejoice and have party when on 12th Rabi al Awal our prophet died?

✏ Birthday celebration have pagan roots. Celebrating birthdays is not allowed at all.

✏ This celebration is neither from Sunnah nor Qur'an. Anything that is not part of these two can not be part of Islam...
the Prophet SAW said, "Stick to my sunnah and the sunnah of my rightly guided Caliphs, beware of Newly invented matters, for every new matter is Bid'ah and every Bid'ah is misleading.
(Tirmizi 2676)"

✏ Allah says in [Surah al Maidah 3].
"This day I have perfected your religion for you."
When Islam is perfect and complete then who gave the authority to these people to introduce new things in Islam?

✏ Celebrating milaad (birthdays) is imitation of Christians and Jews. Jews celebrate birthday of Uzair, Christians celebrate birthday of Esa AS.
while the Prophet Saw said, "Whoever imitates a people becomes one of them. (Abu Dawood)"
In other narration The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) warned us against following their ways and traditions, He said:
“You would follow the ways of those who came before you step by step, to such an extent that if they were to enter a lizard’s hole, you would enter it too.” They said, “O Messenger of Allaah, (do you mean) the Jews and Christians?” He said, “Who else?” (Reported by Al-Bukhaari and Muslim).

✏ Prophet SAW said, "Be different from Mushrikeen. (Sahih Muslim)"

✏ Prophet SAW said "Do not exaggerate in praising me." Some people judge Maolidu-n-Nabiyy as an act of praising the Prophet by saying 'if we don't celebrate his day of birth, whose day should we celebrate?' And here, the Prophet himself condemns the act of prioritizing him to the extent of praising him so much.

Here comes the point. If you insist on celebrating Maolidu-n-Nabiyy (which is regarded as Haraam and Bid'ah (forbidden and innovative)), then that actually means you're deviating from what Allah instructed the same messenger (you're celebrating his day) to teach us.

Imitation is limitation. In the 21st century, birds of a feather not only flock together, but also win/lose together. Pay careful attention to the trends, people and groups you roll and feel cool with. So what looks good and popular; But, does it make legal and moral sense? Just because everyone is doing it doesn't make it acceptable. Is your middle name "Everyone"?

How can one think he knows better than that Messenger whose mission was to show you how Allah wants to be worshipped and how he (messenger) also wants to be followed?.

Allah says in Sūratul Kah'f (Q18: vs 103-104) "Say [O Muhammad], Shall we inform you of the greatest losers as to [their] deeds?." (104): "[They are] those whose effort is lost in worldly life, while they think that they are doing good deeds."

May Allah grant us deep understanding of His words, grant us beautiful return to the truth and piety of the heart to follow what the Messenger had brought without questioning.
