ONE GOOD TURN, DESERVE ANOTHER

Story of The Snake And The Eagle

Once there was an eagle. One day, when he was flying high in the sky, he glanced towards the ground and saw a snake on the branch of a tree. The eagle immediately dived down and caught the snake in his talons. Then he flew up high in the sky with the intention of eating him up.

The eagle looked around for a spot, and after some time landed on
a cliff. In the meantime, the snake had started coiling himself around his talons. The eagle tried to resist him, but the snake continue to coil; And subsequently, a battle broke out between the two creatures.

Now, Abdul Mālik was sitting at the far edge of the cliff, when he heard the cries of the two creatures, he looked around and saw an eagle and a snake in a fierce battle. Abdul Mālik rushed towards them. He was soon able to release the eagle from the coils of the snake. The eagle immediately took off and sat on the cliff.

The snake was, however, furious. He decided to take revenge on this young man (called Abdul Mālik). And therefore, he spat some venom in the drinking horn of Abdul Mālik. Now, the eagle saw the dirty trick of the snake. Abdul Mālik was, however, ignorant. He simply took hold of his drinking horn and was about to drink water from it.

At that moment, the eagle flew down and knocked the drinking horn out of Abdul Mālik's hand. Abdul Mālik was startled for a moment, but then he gradually understood that there was something wrong with the water. He thanked the eagle and then went his own way.

COMMENTARY
The above story comprises of lots of lessons. Each lessons will be picked out and we read through the paragraphs.

=>Whenever we are going out of our home to find our daily needs, never forget the Sunnah; for it will deliver you from harm of every sort you might encounter on the way. And always go out with the belief of whatever is going to be yours, will never exceed you; and whatever has not been decreed for you can never be yours even if you earn it through harām means.

=>Whenever we achieve anything (be it success or whatsoever), always be grateful; For the Hadith says: "He won't be able to thank Allah; one who is not grateful to man". And Allah also says: "If you are indeed grateful, I will multiply [for you] and if you are ungrateful [or disbelieves].........." (we don't want that).

=>Whenever we discover creatures of Allah, (human especially) are fighting or causing chaos amongst themselves, and we know we are capable of settling this disorderliness, our responsibility is to run towards them just as Abdul Mālik had done in the story.

=>Our beloved readers, whenever we're been corrected for a single mistake, the best is to accept corrections, lay our affairs unto Allah alone, ask Him for guidance, trust Him and walk away. We shouldn't let in any devilish ideas or thoughts because the devil himself is always planning on us really and deeply; so, beware of the diseased heart that's always seeking revenge even for small matters. May the Almighty guide such hearts to sincere forgiveness.

=>Anytime we find ourselves been bogged into difficulties or situations; the best is to think before reacting and responding. For our deeds and words are been recorded and taken down by the unseen creatures. And those deeds and words recorded will surely and slowly make us or break us. Also, never ever be too harsh on animals; for the curse of the Prophet (may peace be upon him) are on those with this kind of act and behavior (for not being kind to animals). Be kind!
